About
My name is Dewita Soeharjono. I’m the founder of Some Things Organic. This blog is about the business of sustainability, inbound marketing (the art of getting found online) and social media.
A little bit of history of this blog
I started out this blog a while back. That’s why you see some of the postings dated back to 2006. Originally when I started this blog, I wanted to write something about the learning hands on experience part of running a biz with all the challenges, ups and downs — and how to overcome those challenges. Then I sort of drifted from the original idea when I got myself sucked in into doing real estate. That was in 2004. Last year, I made a clear choice that I wanted to do something that I like doing. Oh, how that getting to what I really want to do – wasn’t easy.
So I went for a big break instead. I went home to see my sisters in Indonesia. There I spent nothing but reconnecting with members of the family and friends.
After I got back to Washington DC, I was so disappointed that my – supposedly big idea – got trashed, umm, I meant not selected by the juries. Did I tell you that I submitted my biz plan for a competition?
Long story short. I got back to the drawing board trying to see the path I’d been on. And the analysis – yes I have to be truth to myself to get the reality check – gives me the input of what I want to do.
One thing lead to another. So here I am today. Learning by doing. Or vice versa. Whatever you call it. Some of the stuff I’m doing, I’ve done it. I’ve plugged into using social media tools for many years. Started blogging to build my real estate business from the ground up in 2004. But some of the other stuff, part of the business services I’m offering, not formally. A little bit here and there. Hands on training, pretty much.
Fast forward to 2010, I’m taking Inbound Marketing courses from Inbound Marketing University. I’m also attending workshops, networking, webminars – whatever it takes to make things happen on the learning side including interviewing people – as part of the learning curve.
For the purpose of learning, I’m documenting my journey, in this blog.
Enjoy.

PS: I’m a certified Inbound Marketing professional now.
